7R builds green warehouses

7R is developing an innovative product line 7R Green with the primary objective of delivering facilities whose green solutions will help minimize their impact on the natural environment. Construction of the first eco-friendly warehouse is to commence in the first half of this year.

The 2015 Paris Agreement, which sets out the first binding global action plan to mitigate climate change and the severity of global warming, has also shifted the interest of the logistics sector toward sustainable construction.

The 7R Green concept primarily focuses on maximizing the energy efficiency of warehouses through the use of modern solutions.

The warehouses built as part of the new 7R Green product line will feature photovoltaic panels that will cover part of tenants’ electricity demand, as well as electric vehicle charging points. The BMS, which monitors the efficiency of systems and supports efficient building management, is currently being tested. LED lighting has proven very successful and, combined with an increased exposure of dock areas to daylight, will reduce the costs of utilities for tenants. 7R will also fit in motion detectors and the DALI active lighting system which will automatically dim the lighting depending on the ambient light.

Construction of the first warehouse designed and delivered in line with the 7R Green concept will commence in Sosnowiec in the first half of the year.
