To accommodate its rapid growth, Domax, one of the largest manufacturers of timber screws and connectors in Europe, has decided to expand its warehouse capabilities. It leased 5,800 sqm of warehouse space in Mapletree Park Gdańsk Airport. The tenant was represented throughout the search and negotiation process by real estate advisory firm Newmark Polska.
Domax has been active since 1991. It currently has a portfolio of four brands, the oldest being DMX, which sells timber screws, connectors and hinges. Three younger brands: Velano, Grundline and Grindi, provide wall accessories (shelves, flowerpot hangers, hooks and shelf brackets), as well as garden furniture and fixtures.
“Domax expected comprehensive assistance in the process of looking for and leasing warehouse space in Tricity. Our task was to present proposals meeting the client’s location and delivery time requirements, to conduct negotiations and to oversee the technical handover of the warehouse. We are pleased to have partnered with Domax,” says Jakub Dudkiewicz, Associate, Newmark Polska.
“Warehouse availability in Tricity is limited. We leveraged our extensive market intelligence and information on tenant rotation in logistics centres to quickly secure the warehouse meeting our client’s requirements,” adds Michał Rafałowicz, Regional Director, Newmark Polska.
Mapletree Park Gdańsk Airport is a logistics centre located in the industrial Gdansk Kokoszki district, in the vicinity of Lech Wałęsa Airport. Its proximity to the S7 and S6 expressways, an A1 motorway junction and Gdansk harbour is valued by distribution occupiers operating in Poland and abroad. Mapletree Park Gdańsk Airport also enjoys easy access to labour in the Tricity job market.
