Hillwood develops two warehouses in Upper Silesia

Hillwood Polska is building two warehouses: in Gliwice and Myslowice. A total of 52,000 sqm of modern warehouse space will become available in Q3 2020. This year will also see completion of two other warehouse facilities: Hillwood Sosnowiec Zaglebie and Hillwood Ruda Slaska.

Measuring nearly 28,000 sqm, the Gliwice warehouse will be built in Pszczynska Street, just 2 km from the city centre, by the Gliwice Sosnica interchange of the A4 and A1 motorways. From this location, companies will be able to better service clients on local and national markets. Its proximity to the city will be an important advantage for future employees of the warehouse facility. Hillwood is planning to build another building nearly twice as large within the logistics complex.

Construction of Hillwood Myslowice has also commenced. This modern warehouse park is being developed at industrial sites located between Mikolowska and Obrzezna Zachodnia streets, just a few kilometres from the junction of the A4 motorway and the S1 expressway. The proximity of the transit routes will make for easy connections with southern and central Poland, and Germany. The first building currently under construction will measure nearly 24,000 sqm.

Both properties offer a possibility of separating off smaller spaces. Warehouse modules start from 3,000 sqm in Gliwice and 2,600 sqm in Myslowice.

Upper Silesia is an important market on the industrial map of Poland. On the one hand, it offers easy access to its existing and planned road infrastructure, which helps cut transportation costs and is particularly relevant to logistics companies. On the other, its competitive advantage over other regions stems from lower rents. Other advantages of this metropolitan area include a large consumer market and the availability of skilled labour, while its dense communication network is an important convenience for warehouse workers.

Hillwood has already built two other warehouse centres in the region: Hillwood Sosnowiec Zaglebie and Hillwood Ruda Slaska. This year will see the completion of their extension.

Hillwood Ruda Slaska has been chosen by leading logistical companies, including DPD, a courier company, which leased over 11,000 sqm in a BTS facility that is currently underway. The warehouse and sorting facility featuring a range of technologies improving DPD’s operations in the Silesian region, will be delivered in Q3 2020. The extension of the second building is also nearing completion. Its tenants include a logistics provider Delta Trans, which leased 7,100 sqm last autumn and has now expanded its footprint by another 3,500 sqm.
