Lidl’s Distribution Centre is under construction in Stargard

Lidl’s warehouses will feature green solutions and create approximately 200 new jobs. The scheme is scheduled to open in Q4 2019 and to begin deliveries to stores in late 2019 and early 2020. The topping out ceremony is to take place on 11 June.

The new Distribution Centre in Stargard will be one of the most modern facilities in the retailer’s European portfolio. It is partly a two-storey modular warehouse comprising 44,000 sqm of space on the ground floor and 14,000 sqm on the first floor. It is Lidl’s second such project in Poland - the first one was opened in Kaluszyn, Masovia, in early 2019. And as in Lidl’s other schemes, the new Distribution Centre was designed to incorporate cutting-edge environment-friendly solutions.

The Stargard warehouse boasts modern, innovative technologies to reduce its environmental footprint, paving the way to a prestigious LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certificate. The scheme features a photovoltaic system, rainwater (greywater) for plumbing and plant watering systems, a heat recovery ventilation system, energy-saving LED lighting, natural cooling agents in the cooling system and many other green solutions.
