Poczta Polska opens a sorting facility in Bialystok

Poczta Polska is opening a new parcel sorting facility in Bialystok. The start of operations at Panattoni’s warehouse complex is scheduled for October 2019. In line with its strategy, Poczta Polska focuses on the development of its e-commerce services.

In January-April 2019, Poczta Polska recorded a 19.4% growth in Pocztex parcels compared to the same period in 2018 and expects its volumes of courier parcels to continue to grow in the coming years.

The new facility of Poczta Polska will be located at Panattoni Park Bialystok, 8 Aksamitna Street in the north-western part of Bialystok, approximately 8 km from the city centre, in the immediate vicinity of national road 65 and close to the S8 expressway. Panattoni Park Bialystok is the first logistics park in the capital of the Podlasie region.

Poczta Polska currently has sorting facilities in three different locations in Bialystok. The relocation of letter and parcel sorting and shipment processes to a new 5,000 sqm plus warehouse will streamline postal services. The completion of the new sorting facility will help speed up parcel processing and improve efficiency. The existing postal building in Elewatorska Street will be used for handling domestic and international pallet shipments. The transfer of letter and parcel sorting processes to the leased warehouse is the first stage in the reorganisation of the postal logistics network in this region. The Podlasie sorting facility of Poczta Polska will be ultimately established on the firm’s plot in Choroszcz near Bialystok.

Last year, Poczta Polska opened additional buildings for its sorting facilities in four locations: in Olsztyn, Koszalin, Lodz and Zamosc. This year, it is also planning to increase its warehouse space for parcel sorting.
