Development company Segro has completed the construction of a facility for Komfort. The 15,500 sqm project was developed in three and a half months at SEGRO Logistics Park Strykow.
Komfort, one of Segro’s first clients in Strykow, has until now rented 11,700 sqm in an existing warehouse. Due to the rapid growth of its business operations and addition of kitchen and bathroom accessories to its offer, the company needed over 30% more warehouse space.
The quick turnaround of the 15,500 sqm project was facilitated by developing a fully prefabricated structure, from the facility’s foundations through columns and roof girders to a fully prefabricated external office made of prefabricated reinforced concrete walls and floors.
Komfort’s new facility will undergo BREEAM certification with a Very Good rating expected, among other things, on account of the use of modern selective glazing in the office building that will protect against excessive heating of the office in summer and heat lost in winter. LED lighting was installed throughout the facility, and intelligent DALI-controlled LED luminaires were fitted in the warehouse. At the entrance to the building, an access control system was deployed to enable automatic number-plate recognition. The facility at SEGRO Logistics Park Strykow will also feature EV charging stations as part of green solutions provided by the developer.
Komfort has a network of more than 160 stores across the country. The company has recently added bathrooms, kitchens and wardrobes to its range in specially designed stores. Its first stores with a comprehensive offer of interior finishings and furnishings already operate in Warsaw’s Okecie district and in Poznan. The company is planning to further develop this concept.
SEGRO Logistics Park Strykow was established in 2006 as one of the developer’s flagship parks in this part of Europe. Located close to an intersection of the A1 and A2 motorways, it enables clients seamless deliveries in all directions. At full build-out, the park will provide nearly 400,000 sqm of warehouse, logistics (cross-docking) and production space.
